While the idea of participating in group therapy for many is anxiety provoking and daunting, group therapy provides a number of benefits. It is in the group setting where clients often truly learn that they are not alone. They find that there are others like them who suffer the same difficulties. It is in the group setting where clients can find genuine support. Group therapy provides a sounding board, promotes social skills, and generally costs less than individual therapy.
We have extensive experiencing running groups around a variety of topics and among a variety of different age groups. Groups typically last approximately 1 1/2-2 hours (depending on the group and age of participants). They generally meet once a week for approximately 6-8 weeks. We offer groups at the request of an outside entity or service.
