Making the decision to seek additional support in your personal growth and healing is something to be proud of. You deserve an atmosphere that fosters hope and understanding. Asking for help can be difficult, especially when finding someone to trust throughout your healing process. My priority from the first session on is to create an environment of hope, understanding, and, most importantly, trust.
I believe we all encounter experiences that affect us in different ways. My goal is to help uncover effective strategies that alleviate and resolve painful feelings, emotions, and experiences. I integrate processing strategies that allow for a deeper understanding of symptoms and provide education on how to effectively cope with the stressors we face in our daily life. I believe it is important to equip you with the tools to be successful long-term and instill confidence in each and every individual I work with.
I am a National Certified Counselor and have experience working with a variety of diagnoses including mood disorders, behavior disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and substance use. I have worked with adolescents and adults in residential treatment facilities and inpatient settings and have experience conducting in-home treatment with individuals and families.
I use several Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies along with Solution-Focused Therapy techniques. I also integrate Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy strategies into many of my treatments. I use an integrative approach to cater to the specific needs of each individual, allowing me to personalize each treatment. We are all unique and I believe therapy should be unique to each person.
